"You just have to take it easy sometimes"
I have shot images of this small herd in the past. It consists of cows that produce calves for beef rearing each year. Of course it is a new set of calves this time which are quite well grown already.
The area that they are normally turned out on is only accessible on foot and I usually reach it by bicycle. I cheated this time and parked the car and walked it.
They are all great Models and like to pose for me.
The location consists of a long winding narrow field (about 3 miles long) with a high ridge running along the middle. Its a great place for the cows as they can choose which side to lay out of the wind and in a sunny position.
"This is my best side"
pasture looks in great condition as do the cows; lovely photos Roy and enjoyed the humourous comment at the end too
ReplyDeleteThanks Carole. Yes plenty of rain keeps the grass in good shape.
DeleteLovely shots Roy.
ReplyDeleteSuch gentle looking animals.
Thanks Keith.
DeleteLovely set of images Roy. They look very laid back, you were lucky, I've herd that some models can be cows to work with!!...[;o)
ReplyDeleteThanks Trevor. {:))
DeleteDon't milk it too much Trevor.
Hi Roy, they are lovely. I especialy like the cream-coloured cow/calve, she is very sweet. Also the black and white cows from the back.
ReplyDeleteI know the cows have to wear these yellow eartags, same as in Holland, but I think we have to complain, they aren't very nice on the cows and the pictures :-(.
Regards,
Marianne
Thanks Marianne.
DeleteYes the tags are their individual number and licence really.
Love the post, they look in very good condition, still would not be in the same field as them...I am a little scared!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda.
DeleteCows are lovely animals and are quite peaceful really, but I understand as I have a friend like you from my original part of the World that will take large steps in the opposite direction rather than get too close to cows. {:))
Happy cows! Happy cows!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are Steve.
DeleteHey Roy...The first one is super adorable photo, so cute!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a real clean looking herd, wonder if they get a bath everyday ; ),usually there are flies around bugging them!!
