Goosander (Female)

 

A short visit to Ferry Bridge Reserve Weymouth revealed two female Goosander ducks swimming around in the tidal pools at the South East end of the Reserve.

The lone Little Egret did its best to annoy the Goosanders.

A number of the ubiquitous Rock Pipit were searching for food along the edge of the pool.

A Golden Day

A beautiful sight was again experienced at Lodmoor Reserve this week.

Several hundred Golden Plover (I never bothered to count them) were flying from one area to another and back again. 

This continued for quite some time. This of course allowed for some flight shots to be taken.

A few Common Snipe revealed themselves from behind the reed stubbles.

Plenty of Lapwings around the Reserve as usual.

A short visit to Ferry Bridge on a very windy and cold day revealed some bird activity.

I saw three ships a sailing. (Followed by a Safety boat)😆
