Moving Home - Flying South

I will not be posting on this Blog or my Flickr Site for a while as we are moving home.
Thanks for all your kind comments you have posted.
I will be back at some stage, but will continue to view your blogs when I get the opportunity.

A Butterfly Shoot

A butterfly shoot today that produced a good selection of current on the wing species.

The star of the post has to be the Chalk Hill Blue.

In second place for the good reason that I have only observed this species once before in the local areas that I have walked over recent years.
The Small Copper.

Always worth a spot in any butterfly post.
The beautiful Peacock.

The Common Blue
Currently not so common.

The Green-veined White

The Large White

The Marbled White
Very plentiful this year.

360 Small Skipper

A 360 degree view of the Small Skipper.
This female was posing under a dull sky.
Butterflies tend to like the sun to come out for flying.
There is little difference between a male and female. The male will have a thin black line in the centre of its upper 'dihedral' wings.
