Whilst out searching for butterflies I happen to hear a familiar machine like chatter in the hedgerow.
On closer inspection I observed two Whitethroat working their way through the hedgerow in order to feed their young. I took a few rapid shots of the pair and left, as they were obviously trying to avoid revealing the whereabouts of their nest.
a delightful series Roy; beautiful little birds ..
ReplyDeleteThanks Carole.
DeleteSurprise encounters can sometimes be the most rewarding Roy! and you got some lovely images ...[;o)
ReplyDeleteThanks Trevor.
DeleteHi Roy,
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice double catch, I think they are funny birds to see. I don't see them very often and making pictures is hard. So you did well, even a pair! Very very nice. Hope you'l manage to see the babies later this year.
Regards,
Marianne
That first shot is pretty cool. I can be tough to get a pair of birds in one frame.
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve.
DeleteHi Roy How wonderful to have come across 2 Whitethroats together andthen to have obtained such fantastic shots, Weel done. I have just looked at the last post of butterflies which are exquisite and I loved the cows in the previous post. I'm trying to catch up, with great difficulty!!! Have a great weekend. Margaret

Thanks GG.
DeleteYes that one is saying, "Does he actually know what he is doing with that camera."
One is great but two is a real treat Roy. They don't often show themselves for me. Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteThe Common Blue photos on the last post were superb! I only saw one or two last year and none at all so far this year. The photos of the Great Crested Newt were great too. Not seen one since I was a child!
Thanks Jan, it was a rare event to see two together.{:))
DeleteLovely shots Roy.
ReplyDeleteI've been watching some of these this morning.
Lovely set of pictures of the White Throat.
ReplyDeleteJust fantastic Roy!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos, its so great to have caught both birds on the same pics!
Congrats!
Great shots! It is always hard to decide when we have "bothered" a bird long enough with our camera. I start feeling guilty for interrupting whatever they are doing. I'm glad you got such good shots, but also left them undisturbed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary.
DeleteThis I would also like to have Roy. Before my lens Really nice photographed!
ReplyDeleteCompliment.
