Thank You Mrs Brimstone

Just occasionally a butterfly will pitch on something and the image will be set up for you.
This female Brimstone landed neatly on this triple leaf and provided a nice composite scene.

  5. But it takes the expert eye of the photographer to notice those perfect shots and you sure have an expert's eye for what is perfect. Lovely!

  6. Hi Roy, Have been through your pictures (been away for a week, no access to a computer) Lovely set of pictures of the Speckled Wood. I have yet to get any pictures this year of a butterfly, very few around, not seen any of the 'blues' yet. Some info that the Marsh Fritillary are emerging, hope for some good weather to get some good pics of these. Lovely pictures of the Brimstone on the Bluebell:)

    1. Thanks Lyn, I have seen quite a few of S/Woods in the same area as I would normally expect to. No Blues yet.
I think this year is definitely better than last year so far.

  8. It is so sunny on your blog, what a chage for me... I can't see anything else than rain, clouds and feel very cold! :(
Brilliant photos of the Brimestone, such a symbol of spring!

  9. Wow Roy, you made some great shots! The first one on the 'bells' is so nice in these beautiful colours.
I saw these Brimstones yesterday (it was our first really nice spring day), but I couldn't make any pictures.
