Orange Tip Butterfly

My first sightings of the Orange Tip this year and this was about 15 days later than last year.
That said, I didn't see very many at that time. Following on from that, we had all the rain for the rest of the Summer and I never observed any further of the species. So hopefully having seen quite a few in my first round of sightings this year I think its a sign that they have recovered, hopefully.

  3. We had a male stop in the garden for a few moments. It's great to see a few more species on the wing at last.

    1. Certainly is good to see Frank.
The male OT likes the mustard flowers and is the only place apart from Cuckoo Flowers that I see them stop.

  5. This one reminds me of a Creamsicle! Do you have those there? They are an orange sherbet Popsicle filled with vanilla ice cream! I can see that you are glad to have the butterflies back. I love your header photo!

  6. These are so pretty! I would love to see one sometime. Apparently there is at least one Orange tip in my area, but I have never spotted one. And I don't think the one here in the east is as bright as this or the ones out west.
