Blue Tit Gymnastics

The Blue Tit is a very experienced Gymnast when it comes to feeding high up in trees.
I watched this one navigating high branches and prising up lichen from the wood. I am assuming it was looking for insects underneath the lichen.

  3. Hi Roy,

Now I really wonder if gravity exsists.... ;-)
It is a wonderful series about a very nice little bird that can keep you busy for hours. Looking how they act always makes me laugh. So does your 'hanging' photo.
Have a nice weekend and regards from rainy and cold Holland :-(

  7. Lovely photos and captions:) I like blue tits and they are usually around but the most frequent visitors to my garden at present are longtailed tits along with goldfinches and siskins. The siskins atarted appearing a couple of weeks ago and I was thrilled to see them. I'd be thrilled to see some sunshine too!!!

  9. Excellent series of images Roy. I'm always amazed at the frenetic work (feeding) rate that some birds have to put in, just to be able to survive from one day to the next!...[;o)
