Amongst the green shoots of the Winter Wheat I witnessed two Cock Pheasants having a territorial dispute. There was a lot of face to face sparring, but no blows were struck.
It was finalised by a "Mexican Stand Off" and then they went their separate ways......
....but not before they had one more long hard look at each other....
...and of course a publicity photo for the local Press.
Great sequence of images Roy, I guess that was just the 'preliminaries and the weigh in' prior to the main bout?...[;o)
ReplyDeleteThanks Trevor, yes I think thats tomorrow.{:))
DeleteGreat photos but also love the captions:) Did make me grin!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sweff.
DeleteCommentary on the last pic: "Nah, had enough, let's get a beer"
ReplyDeleteThanks Helena, you should be my script writer.{:))
DeleteIt's that time of year. It is good that it was just a Mexican stand off rather than a lucha libre.
ReplyDeleteYes, sure is Steve.{:))
DeleteThose were fun Roy and well captured too :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jan.
DeleteA funny story, Roy. Perhaps they were just evaluating one another's chances and both made a decision the risk was too high this time! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Petra.{:))
DeleteGreat set Roy. Had me chuckling going through them.
ReplyDeleteThe last two are particularly good. :-)
Thanks Keith.
DeleteHey Roy...Funny stuff, but I suppose not to those involved!! ; )

DeleteNice collection of shots Roy, the Pheasants are certainly starting to get feisty as they warm up for the real fights in the next few weeks :-)
