With the absence of anything else of interest at Lodmoor Reserve during my last visit, I thought a few of the resident Grey Heron would be appropriate. We do tend to ignore them most of the time.
Poor old grey herons - I call them all Harry Heron and I do love seeing them in the fields in the winter. But yes, they aren't really a patch on a purple heron or the flashier egrets.
We shouldn't really ignore them, should we? They are remarkable birds as your photos show.
ReplyDeleteThanks John. Yes a much overlooked bird. They are pretty special though.
DeleteHi Roy,

Thanks Maria.
DeleteBeautiful serie photos of the blue heron. Have a nice day.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Caroline.
DeleteBonjour Roy.
ReplyDeleteEn effet il y a des espèces qu'on regarde sans les photographier, quel dommage.
La première photo est superbe Roy.

ReplyDeleteSomeone came up to me one day and said they had seen a Stork in the park. I said 'Was it Grey in colour', they said, 'yes'.🤣
