Grey Heron Portraits

With the absence of anything else of interest at Lodmoor Reserve during my last visit, I thought a few of the resident Grey Heron would be appropriate. We do tend to ignore them most of the time.

  1. We shouldn't really ignore them, should we? They are remarkable birds as your photos show.

    1. Thanks John. Yes a much overlooked bird. They are pretty special though.

  4. Bonjour Roy.
En effet il y a des espèces qu'on regarde sans les photographier, quel dommage.
La première photo est superbe Roy.

  5. Poor old grey herons - I call them all Harry Heron and I do love seeing them in the fields in the winter. But yes, they aren't really a patch on a purple heron or the flashier egrets.

    1. Someone came up to me one day and said they had seen a Stork in the park. I said 'Was it Grey in colour', they said, 'yes'.🤣
