The Grey Wagtails at the local stream that runs through Cerne Abbas, Dorset have returned and are in the process of brooding a nest of young.
However, as does happen with busy parents, they don't look at their best currently.
In order to preserve their dignity I have not shown close images of them as they fly too and fro along the stream catching water flies. They do look rather scruffy at the moment.
In a couple of weeks time they should look somewhat better and I can get some better images to portray.
On the same day I went in search of the Duke of Burgundy Butterfly.
Unfortunately they are not flying much as yet, so thats another objective later. However there are now plenty of Green Hairstreak butterflies on the wing so I have included some of those.
The very definition of careworn parents!

DeleteHei Roy! Kaunis maisema. Olisi kiva nähdä tuo lintu. Toivottavasti tänä kesänä se onnistuu jälleen.
ReplyDeleteKiitos Anne. Ne ovat yleensä melko onnistuneita.
