The Ducks are Gathering

Visiting a nearby Gravel Pit which is part filled with water recently I observed flocks of Teal and Gadwall gathering together, a sure and one of the more pleasing signs of the Autumn.

Teal Duck (Anas crecca)

Gadwall Duck (Anas Strepera)

One that was found not gathering was this single immature female Shelduck (Tardorna tardorna).

  8. Fantastic in-flight shots, Roy! The Lapwings on the newer post too. I haven't seen any Lapwings here yet - they are winter birds round here and we see them in the recently ploughed fields.
