Its that time of year now when the Summer migrants have gone and the Winter ones have not yet arrived in good numbers. So in the absence of anything else a few images of resident species is called for.
Grey Heron |
Immature Great-crested Grebe |
Black-headed Gull |
Mute Swan |
Dunnock |
Moorhen |
Male Mallard |
Great Tit |
These are ALL wonderfully shot photographs with stunning reflections. I have never seen a GC Grebe at this immatture stage so that was lovely to see Roy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret.
DeleteLovely series of photos, I particularly like the ones of the Swans and the Mallard. We already have a fair number of Redwings up here so they should be down in the Fens pretty soon :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks David, no sign so far unfortunately.
DeleteAlways makes me smile to see geese and swans "gallop" across the water for take off. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes they make a lot of noise as well Wilma.{:))
DeleteWoauwwww. Il y a du monde ici. J'adore.
ReplyDeleteil y en a pour tous les goûts ! Very great.
Bye bye
Great photos as always, Roy. I particularly like the dunnock in the hawthorn bush!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alison, yes the Dunnock is often overlooked, but has some nice plumage.
DeleteWow another great set of photos Roy, very sharp.. some lovely birds.
ReplyDeleteLovely series of photos, Roy, so crisp and clear. Not much left in my neck of the woods, unfortunately. And little sign of any winter birds. There has been little opportunity to go off, but am hoping for one or two more forays into nature before I head south for the winter, providing the weather cooperates. I'm a bit of a woos when it comes to being cold! Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteGreat set of images, the swan with a full reflection in the water is beautiful, but I also love 'take off'
ReplyDeleteThanks Suzie.
DeleteWonderful to see all these birds.
ReplyDeleteAlso a compilment for your wonderful beautiful header:-)
Thanks Helma.
