Visiting a nearby Gravel Pit which is part filled with water recently I observed flocks of Teal and Gadwall gathering together, a sure and one of the more pleasing signs of the Autumn.

One that was found not gathering was this single immature female Shelduck (Tardorna tardorna).

DeleteFantastic in-flight shots, Roy! The Lapwings on the newer post too. I haven't seen any Lapwings here yet - they are winter birds round here and we see them in the recently ploughed fields.
