Lodmoor and Radipole Reserve Visit

A visit to Lodmoor and Radipole Reserves respectively this week revealed the usual species that you would expect to find at this time.

Of particular interest was a large flock of Mediterranean Gull numbering around 100. It is not unusual to see the Med in this area, but I haven't seen such a large flock, but others have.

The Black-tailed Godwit of the non breeding type is a regular visitor to Lodmoor.
In fact some spend most of their time there during that period.

A few Icelandic 'Blackwits' below with there breeding plumage were observed at a distance.

At Radipole Reserve male Pochards put on quite a show.

A Chiffchaff was heard singing along a pathway and suddenly put in an appearance which enabled me to get some shots.
