Along the River Bank

Some images taken during my recent walk along the river bank that I regularly feature at this time of year.


Pair of Mute Swans at the nest.

A Grey Heron waiting for the next fish.

May and Wild Parsley are flowering profusely now. 


Goldfinch appearing in the hedgerow.


Speckled Wood Butterfly.




Buttercups are everywhere.

Dog Rose.



The other end of my walk where I turn around and retrace my steps.

  5. it looks like a lovely sunny day for the walk by the river adn you managed to see lots o diferent critters, ALL beautiful photographed. Also nice to see the barges on the river. it would be a lovely slow way to travel and look at wild life.

  8. That is such a tranquil place and I would love to stroll along by that river. I'm envious that you have seen demoiselles already. The swallow photo is amazing. :-)

  9. This is a lovely walk with so many interesting things to see. The dog roses are just flowering here too. I love the demoiselle and red admiral and of course the beautiful swallow.

  10. Lovely images Roy, my favourite one is the scene of the river, the one between the buttercups and the large white butterfly.

    1. Thanks Lyn, yes thats a nice spot there along that bank. Good for some butterflies, especially Skipper varieties when they emerge.

    Wonderful you managed to 'catch' the Golfinch and the Dunnock, both are usually quite shy!
    Hoping your weather is better than ours... mud slides in our village :(
