  1. Hi Roy I see you caught the sun and these are wonderful captures. Can I say, you photographs deserve better than have them randomly scattered about as in the last shot.(only my opinion)

  3. third picture, the bird is really contorting itself to hoik out some morsels from the bark. Great pictures, really show how the bird forages

  4. Great shots Roy as they don't stay still for long rushing up the tree, they are one bird that don't seemed to be bothered by your presence it's just spotting them in the first pace. I have seen quite a few this year and they are active at the park, I have watched the males ( I presume ) fighting.

  9. These are lovely images - I've never managed to get them in focus. It is a great chance to see close-up just how long and curved the beak is, for all that proddling into bark, and also the feet and claws - they're huge. Thanks for showing.
