Brimstone Butterfly

Brimstone (Gonepteryx rhamni

The first butterfly sighting of the year for me.
Observed this male today during my woodland walk and it was the only one that I did observe.

It would have emerged from hibernation very recently, maybe in the last day or two, as this occurs during the first few warm days of Spring.
