The Pasque Flower (Pulsatilla vulgaris)
This is traditionally an Easter flower so to celebrate Easter Day I have posted some blooms that I shot this week.
A very rare plant in the United Kingdom which can only be found a few locations in the Chilterns, Cotswolds, East Anglia and Lincolnshire.
it's an amazing flower; so special to see via your walks in a special part of the world to find these Roy - thanks
ReplyDeleteThanks Carole.
DeleteA lovely plant and lovely photos Roy! (Hills and Holes, by chance?)

Thanks John. Yes H and H and there are lots there.
DeleteHappy Easter Roy! These are lovely, I've never seen them growing wild though.
ReplyDeleteThanks D and to you.
DeleteGreat images Roy, you're lucky to be able to photograph these stunning flowers, the few that grow just a few miles from me (in the Chilterns) are being 'studied' by some bods from Kew Gardens and the local wildlife trust so are covered in wire cages and monitoring equipment, so no hope of a decent photograph I'm afraid. Maybe next year?...[;o)
ReplyDeleteThanks Trevor. Yes a couple of years ago there were only a few where I see them, but last year and this has been very good. I think the weather conditions have to be absolutely right.
DeleteHappy Easter Roy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Frank and to you.
