Shiny Beaks

This male Bullfinch was so involved with grabbing seeds from a plant whilst hovering momentarily, it didn't notice me, or more likely considered me not to be a threat. I could hear the female calling nearby, but no show unfortunately.

  2. Bullfinches used to appear regularly in our garden when I was a boy; they seem to be much scarcer nowadays.

  4. They are so sweet and kind. They are a sort of big for an finch but are shy and when they call eachother it's soft and nice. Lovely species in my oppinion. Nice photo's of the male and I hope you'll see the female next time also.

    Enjoy your weekend,
    Marianne

    1. Thanks Marianne. I will be looking out for the female, I don't think she was far away because I could hear the call.
