Two Regular Favourites

A couple of portraits of regular resident species that fortunately are usually available for a few photographs to be taken.

The Long-tailed Tit can be observed in groups moving through the hedgerows searching for food.

Long-tailed Tit

The Robin will make you aware of its presence from a perch as you walk along footpaths or from a perch in a garden. Being very territorial it will often be seen driving off other Robins from its area.

  1. Nice portraits, Roy. Both of the birds look so serious, I wonder what they "think"... if they think at all.

    1. Thanks Petra, I guess they are thinking about food and survival mostly.

  2. A brace of fine birdie portraits, especially the Long-Tailed Tit which is a favourite of mine - they always seem to appear when there's little else about, cheering up a dull day.

  4. Hello from Finland! Arrived here, on John's tip, to admire the cute Long-tailed Tit. It can be found in Finland too, but I have never seen one. Wonderful photos!

  6. Lovely shots Roy. It's always a pleasure to hear and see a family of LTT's as the move through the trees and I guess that a Robin will be a 'more visible' regular visitor most peoples gardens over the comming few months?...[;o)

  8. Beautiful pictures Roy,
I especially like the tail tit.
This is a difficult bird to photograph.
I have not succeeded yet. I do not see them too much but they are so nice to see.
