Stonechat and Whinchat

A  few distance shots I was able to grab this week of the Stonechat and Whinchat that have returned to the Parkland for the winter months.

  5. Hi Roy. Your top three shots (and the fifth down) show a Whinchat. Which is a better bird! Was it at FM? Mike W

  6. The one bird is a Whinchat, the other with the more orange chest is a Stonechat.

  7. Hi Mike, I wasn't sure about it being a Stonechat, but just went on the fact that it was in the same company with the Stonechat.
    Yes, in the usual place along the fence line about half way.

  8. Great photos, it's been a good two years since I saw them in Northumberland. Have been very lucky this week to see Crossbill in one of our local woods.
