A couple of portraits of regular resident species that fortunately are usually available for a few photographs to be taken.
The Long-tailed Tit can be observed in groups moving through the hedgerows searching for food.

The Robin will make you aware of its presence from a perch as you walk along footpaths or from a perch in a garden. Being very territorial it will often be seen driving off other Robins from its area.

Nice portraits, Roy. Both of the birds look so serious, I wonder what they "think"... if they think at all.
ReplyDeleteThanks Petra, I guess they are thinking about food and survival mostly.
DeleteA brace of fine birdie portraits, especially the Long-Tailed Tit which is a favourite of mine - they always seem to appear when there's little else about, cheering up a dull day.
ReplyDeleteThanks John, yes its that time now when there isn't much about.
DeleteBeautiful, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Robert
DeleteHello from Finland! Arrived here, on John's tip, to admire the cute Long-tailed Tit. It can be found in Finland too, but I have never seen one. Wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteHi Sara, Thank you very much.
DeleteOh! Olet nähnyt pyrstötiaisen!
ReplyDeleteKiitos Anne, kyllä minä
DeleteVery nice images and superb birds Roy !
ReplyDeleteLovely shots Roy. It's always a pleasure to hear and see a family of LTT's as the move through the trees and I guess that a Robin will be a 'more visible' regular visitor most peoples gardens over the comming few months?...[;o)
ReplyDeleteThanks Trevor, yes could do with a few more visible birds as its a bit sparse at the moment.
DeleteLove the photo of the Long-tailed tit they are so cute, we have had large groups feeding in the park. I have tried photographing them but move to quick, may images of tails or a blurred bodies! We had Redwing back for the winter this week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda, you should see the amount of rubbish shots I deleted.:)
DeleteI have only seen three Fieldfare on the wing so far.
Beautiful pictures Roy,
ReplyDeleteI especially like the tail tit.
This is a difficult bird to photograph.
I have not succeeded yet. I do not see them too much but they are so nice to see.
Groejtes, Helma
Thanks Helma.
