The Green Hairstreak

Its around this time that the Green Hairstreak emerges and fortunately I was able to find three yesterday at the location I would normally expect to find them.
The weather has warmed up at last and it was a lovely sunny day.

The Green Hairstreak particularly likes Hawthorn trees and the buds are just coming out now as a result of the warmer weather.

NB: For local nature colleagues the Green Hairstreak are at the normal location at H and H.

  1. A very nice set of images Roy. I saw my first ever on my butterfly transect today but it was constantly on the wing!.

  5. Kauniita kuvia.
