Orange Tip Butterfly (Female)

The Orange Tip Butterfly (Anthocharis cardamines

The female has similar markings to the male apart from the grey area on the forewings rather than the orange on the male which is also much larger.

  1. HI Roy Well I have learned something today. I thought all Orange Tip had orange on them!! Now I ssee the female has none. I wonder have some 'whites' that I have seen been orange Tip. of course I can see the underside is quite different for the Whites. These are great images of a lovely butterfly.     1. Some of the whites you have seen could easily have been female Orange Tip Margaret.
