Jay - The Food Storer

This Jay was busily searching out food amongst a grass verge and around a small copse.
They will bury food such as acorns to be consumed at a later date.

It remembered hiding something in this half rotted tree trunk.

Not a clear image, but you can see it actually found what it was looking for.

  2. De Gaai is fantastisch mooi maar een grote rustverstoorder en een sloper.

  3. Nice jay! In MN, we had blue jays, which were beautifully colored, although under-appreciated due to their sheer ubiquity. Here in Belize, the jays we have around our place are huge brown jays. They both have behaviors similar to your jays and are great fun to watch.

    1. They can be very greedy Kathie. Jays here are also responsible for nest robbing.
