This Jay was busily searching out food amongst a grass verge and around a small copse.
They will bury food such as acorns to be consumed at a later date.
It remembered hiding something in this half rotted tree trunk.
Not a clear image, but you can see it actually found what it was looking for.
What a gorgeous jay! Such great captures.
ReplyDeleteDe Gaai is fantastisch mooi maar een grote rustverstoorder en een sloper.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bas.
DeleteNice jay! In MN, we had blue jays, which were beautifully colored, although under-appreciated due to their sheer ubiquity. Here in Belize, the jays we have around our place are huge brown jays. They both have behaviors similar to your jays and are great fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteThey are real characters Wilma.
DeleteJay is also a have a fantastic bird to see. He is also very brutal lol ......
ReplyDeleteThanks Helma.
DeleteLes geais sont de superbes oiseaux, mais qu'est ce qu'ils sont farouches..... Bravo Roy !
ReplyDeleteToujours un plaisir de les vois. Merci Nath
DeleteWow. What a pretty jay! Mine all come to my feeder and gobble up the peanuts to store someplace else as well! then the poor Red-headed woodpecker is disappointed when she comes to eat!
ReplyDeleteThey can be very greedy Kathie. Jays here are also responsible for nest robbing.
