Flowers and Four Legs

Images from my recent Woodland walk including small flowers and big hooves.
It was sunny and warm on that day, but is a little different now.{:))

Common Daisy

"In the hot and humid weather it pays to keep One's feet cool whilst eating"

The Orchids are coming out now on the Reserve.
The area where I took these images will soon have hundreds scattered around.

Common Spotted Orchid (Dactyloruiza fuchsii)

Red Clover

As usual these poor horses were bothered by flies around their heads.

Buttercup

Mallow ?

Greater Stitchwort (Stellaria holostea)

Yellow Rattle (Rhinanthus minor)

Vetch

Speedwell

  1. HI Roy Sorry if I am repeating myself but my last comment went up in smoke!!! I love all the wild flowers and your close up shots of them are wonderful. Of course the horses are also great. Yesterday when the UK had terrible weather we had SUN, and more SUN today. Happy Days.

  2. Beautiful! I love the horses and all the flowers, especially the orchids. It almost feels like autumn here with the wind, the rain and the temperatures we're having. :(

  8. Great photos, the Spotted Orchid look in very good condition, still a little behind up here on the wild flowers, and the Speedwell is my flower at the moment trying to see all the different species to put them all together in one post, also a very small moth can be found on them. We have horses up on the hill in one of the fields, if they are on the path I have to walk quite far to get round them same with cows not to keen on them... Best seen in photos...

    1. Thanks Amanda, horses are OK and cows are my favourites. They won't bother you unless you have a dog with you and particularly (but not always) if they have calves with them. Then you have got a problem.{:))

    2. I do have the dog with me most of the time, but it's down to many bad experiences when I was young, that's why I don't like the dentist, another whole story!!

    1. There are a number of species in the same family John, I wouldn't be surprised if you have something like these around.
