Lulworth Skipper Butterfly

Female

The last time I was able to photograph the Lulworth Skipper was June 2020.
There is a good location on the East side of Portland that I can usually find them at this time.
So the weather was fair and I made it the primary objective for this week.
Luckily I found them at the first attempt.
I was also fortunate to catch a fleeting glimpse of a very early Marbled White Butterfly, but no images I am afraid.

Three iPhone images of the area where I search for Lulworth Skippers.

Rough old job, but someone has got to do it.😎

  2. Great spot for a nature walk, even better if you find some Lulworths! I saw one on holiday, on lavender. Funnily enough, I have only seen them on lavender before, at my old house. However, yours is feeding off something different. It's possible I saw one here the other day, but it was very tatty, and they can be pretty hard to ID, the old bedraggled ones. No photos either, trying to ID it with the naked eye!
