I ventured out on my first local walk for a long time.
This was fortunate as I found a male Brambling.
I have not seen this species for many years, so it was a really good idea going for the walk.

I took a quick shot of this bird silhouette (below) high in a bare tree before it flew off again. It turned out to be a female Great-spotted Woodpecker.
