Wild Orchids

Each year on open heathland within the Woodland Nature Reserve where I regularly walk, a display of Wild Orchids grow. Of course one never tires of taken a few shots of them.
I will not try and name them as I understand that the various Common Spotted, Southern Marsh and Pyramid varieties have hybridised and identifying them is not an easy task.
However, being able to look at lovely blooms like these why bother anyway.

  1. What a lovely sight. I keep forgetting to have a look at those which grow by the old sand dunes near here though they aren't as spectacular as those.
