  4. Gorgeous flowers and what a coincidence because I just discovered a new to me pink flower by my pond... which after some research turned out to be the Common Centaury!

And I'm very impressed by your (beautiful photos of) mating butterflies in the previous post.... although today I actually managed to capture two Gatekeepers mating. First time I've managed that with any butterflies. :-)

  6. Hello Roy.
Although its name suggests otherwise the Centaury is quite rare at this side of the North sea. I like its subtle beauty very much.
It took me a while before noticing that you have changed your photographic equipment quite significantly. Was there a specific reason for doing so?
    Best regards,

    1. Thanks Sjerp.
Change of equipment. Cameras are getting smaller and Sony are at the forefront of this change. Placing full frame sensors and APS-C sensors in smaller cameras are the way forward. My previous equipment although very good, was limited in some respects by the size of the sensor. With my new equipment, the Sony A7 for instance is a full frame camera and with the 35mm f2.8 lens produces amazing images. The A6000 has an APS-C size sensor (in fact the same sensor as in the Nikon D7100 as Sony make the sensors for Nikon) and it can shoot 11 frames per second and its tracking ability is excellent. Carrying the A6000 with the 55-210 lens around all day it weighs hardly anything. So it wasn't "Gear Acquisition Syndrome", just a change to improve.{:))
