The Grey Heron in one of its favourite positions standing at the side of the river watching the World go by. This one wasn't fishing, but just taking it easy in the morning sun.

Lethargy or contentment? Is it bored with life, and just can't be bothered or is it resting and digesting after a bountiful spell of early morning fishing? Whichever it is Roy, you've done an excellent job of capturing the 'mood' in these two images...[;o)

We have here with us in the polder many herons but I've never succeeded in this nice in the picture krjgen. You have such beautiful blue heron vereeuwwigd Roy.
Beautifully lit and sharp photos Roy, both of these images are superb studies of this river-side bird :-)
