The second of a two part post of my recent walk.

The Great Tit which is now beginning to look so colourful towards Spring time.

Another Black-headed Gull on the ground this time.

This Squirrel was scratching around on the woodland floor, but opted for a slightly higher perch when I approached.

The Robin which you can be sure to see more of now with the advent of Spring. (Especially in this blog) No doubt I will have some more Robin shots to show soon, especially as they are every person's favourite. {:))

I thought this cluster of dried Oak leaves made a nice image.....

A distant male Goldeneye just rounded off the walk quite nicely.

Parkland Walk (1)

The first of a belated two part post about my observations on a recent Parkland walk. 

The weather varied throughout the morning. Water was still very much in attendance with some of the meadows partially covered in standing water.

This one has not developed its spring time dark brown head yet.

Hearing the tell-tell twittering of Goldfinch I found these two at the top of a tree in the sunlight.

Dried Teasel heads are good for testing the clarity of new lens.

Pied Wagtail

This below is normally a narrow little stream leading from a river into one of the lakes in the Parkland. A quick study normally reveals perhaps the odd Moorhen at the edge of the stream, occasionally a pair of Mallard will venture along feeding. The water level was slightly higher the other day, but this is quite bad enough and reveals the murky looking water that is typical of all the rivers around here at the moment.

More Black-headed Gulls and in unison as well.

Flowers on a Woodland Path

I found this small bunch of Crocus growing along the side of a woodland path this week. I am not sure how they got there originally and they are a long way from a built up area with gardens or houses. They could be wild I suppose.

On the following day with plenty of sunshine I found that they had all come out in full flower.

Further along the path I found these Winter Aconite, which I quite expected to find as they had grown in this area for many years.

Note the very dark soil which is typical of the area.
