Rail On

Another day another Water Rail.
This one really showed up well and I was able to get far better images of it.
These images were taken at Lodmoor Reserve. Weymouth

  1. Some great pictures of this secretive bird. I only ever seem to see them when the mere at Fowlmere is frozen, which doesn't happen very often these days.

  2. Oh my, what big feet you have! Were you well-hidden or was the rail just intent on dining? Beautiful series.

    1. Thanks Wilma. Yes, mine are size eleven.
I was well hidden as this species is not keen on interacting with humans.:-)

  4. Wowsers, you got some cracking shots of a normally very elusive bird!

I have tried commenting on a few of your posts from my ipad but I don't think they worked, it seems very touch and go as to whether they post or not!
