A Moorhen Family

I found this family of Moorhens making their way along the River Froome that runs through Dorchester. 

I counted seven chicks with the two adults.

The river is quite fast flowing, but the chicks where able to fight the current and swim upstream despite their fragile state.

Mayflys only live for a day. This one is just not going to make it.

The third and final Post regarding butterfly images shot over two days at the Cerne Abbas Giant, Dorset.

Searching the lower slopes at the Giant requires the agility of a Mountain Goat.

Only one butterfly features in this post, the Common Blue.
