Here are the species of butterfly I have observed at the beginning of this week.
It was fortunate that I went out at the beginning, as the rest of the week it hasn't stopped raining. I hope the weather gets better soon as this wet weather will not help the next group of butterflies that should emerged at the beginning of July.
The Meadow Brown is always a little weary when arriving in the Spring.
One will rarely find it with wings open at this stage.
The Common Blue Butterfly.
This first one below is a female.
Male Common Blue
Small Heath Butterfly
This rather well worn species below is a Common Blue.
Dingy Skipper.

Well done Roy, you snuck in there before the rainy season started and managed to get a good selection of images.
ReplyDeleteHopefully those waiting to emerge later survived the deluge...[;o)
