We are at that time of year at the moment when if you are out looking for birds to photograph there is much less choice.
The Summer migrants have left for warmer climes, but you may be fortunate to see the odd late leaver, especially in the South of England. Our Winter visitors like the Winter thrushes etc have not yet arrived.
So we fall back on some of our resident species just to keep our hand of course.
After all, we do have some rather nice looking species to choose from.
