  2. How delightful to scroll through your beautiful butterfly pictures this morning while I wake up with my first cuppa. The Brimstone looks so much like a leaf, he could have easily been overlooked. My favorite is the Large Skipper on the dried grass! Stunning! You should select 13 of your favorites and make 2017 calendars for all your family and friends for Christmas! Have a wonderful day! XO

  4. Lovely clear photos as always. I was watching some butterflies around my lavender this morning; they seem to waste an awful lot of energy fluttering around deciding just which flower to alight on.

Yes, even more frustrating when you are trying to photograph them.

  5. I saw plenty of butterflies today and one of them was the Brown Argus:-) Saw a few Common Blues, Peacocks and Brimstone. The Butterfly Conservation mention that they are not getting many recordings of the Tortoiseshell, I have not seen many at all this year, have you?

    1. Common Blues are almost non existent around here Lyn.
I have seen a few Tortoiseshells about a month ago and a few in the Spring, probably about average for me.

  7. That is quite a selection Roy. Flutters are just beginning to show in numbers here while the Buddleia is in full bloom.
