Yesterday I carried out a woodland walk to search for the first Speckled Wood Butterfly species (Pararge aegeria). I had not observed any during the previous week. However the temperature was good and it was only a matter of time before the species emerged. I also had my 'Lucky Charm' walking with me.{:)) Fortunately I found a few in the area that I would normally expect to find them along a woodland ride.

Lovely to see Roy, after the first wave of Peacock butterflies at the park there has been nothing else, even though the sun has been shining it has been very cold here. Fingers crossed for the weather to warm up next week.
