More Migrant Hawker

Migrant Hawker (Aeshna mixta)
You can still find these colourful creatures flying well into November.
Not confined adjacent to water, they can be found well away from it and often perched on vegetation.

  8. Amazing pictures! I have been seeing the Southern Hawker here (not seen a Migrant). I finally managed to get one in flight but it's quite pathetic, but compared to previous pics it's an improvement..... lol! But mine just don't stop and keep on patrolling around and around. Still, I'd rather than than nothing! :-)

  11. We had a warm day yesterday and I did see a couple of dragons as I walked between building at work. But our dragon season is quickly coming to an end in Massachusetts.

    1. Ours is more or less now Steve, the Migrant Hawker is usually the last to remain.
