More Flooding in the Parkland

The flooding in the Parkland area where I regularly walk has increased.
It does give one the opportunity to shoot some more interesting images, due to reflection on the water, shooting into the direction of the sun and helped by specific cloud formations.

A few more normal scene shots to show the increase.

Flooded pathways shown in the two images below.

The river below is the line of water on the right and it has risen to the top of the banks.
The main body of water is actually a field.

Hopefully this will be the last images I shoot of flooding this Winter and there is something more interesting to shoot. Problem with the flooding is that it restricts where one can go and observe.

  1. Hi Roy These photographs are beautiful with the blue skies and reflections on the water. The darker shots are very atmospheric also. I hope ther is not more rain to make the situation worse for people.

  3. Indeed you have captured some interesting reflections but I also do hope that the flooding abates soon. I feel so sorry for all the animals which live underground and the poor trees and plants with water logged roots.

    1. Thanks Sweff, I like to think that most animals were able to avoid it as they are pretty resourceful, but doubt it somehow.

  7. Lovely selection of 'reflection' shots Roy. Although to floods do give us some different photo opportunities I think we've just about had enough water for now?
Maybe a (short) cold snap to freeze all those flooded areas would be good for some photos though?...[;o)

    1. Thanks Wilma, its nice to look at like this, but pretty unpleasant for flooded housing which has happened in some parts of the country.

  9. Hey Roy.. Seems like a lot of people are suffering with the weather here and there!!

The scenes are beautiful to me since everything here is white : ) but rain tomorrow for us too!! What a mess that will be!!

    Hope the water recedes soon!!

  11. Hi Roy,

Of course flooding isn't really good because you can't walk a see the things you want. But you made beautiful pictures of the landscape and the reflections. The clouds and sky are beautifully reflected. I also like the pictures you took in the direction of the sun, it's a special athmosphere. Well done!

    Enjoy the weekend Roy,

    Marianne
