Meadow Pipit

Spending so much time chasing butterflies and dragonflies at this time, one tends to overlook the smaller birds unless they pop up in the open. They are mostly busy feeding young or perched in trees and hedges which currently are masked in leaves.

So this 'Mippit' very kindly came into view at the edge of a field when I was looking for butterflies.

  2. Ah, you did the same as I did. Looking for butterflies and dragonflies but at the end making the pictures of the birds. Nice :-).

  7. HI Roy Surprises are lovely and this 'pop up bird' worked very well in your favour. Lovely shots. Today(when Iget me post done) I am enclosing aDragonfly in it but have no idea what is it. I know you will. Can you look at it adn let me know please sometime. While I was away atmy old caravan in afield, I did see butterflies but they rarely landed at all and I never got a photo of them. I really do not know how you ge the wonderful shots of them that you show on your post but I love seeing them. Margaret

  8. Thanks GG, yes it was just a small Hawthorn tree growing alongside a river with a perfect open perch, which the Pipit kindly landed on for me.
