Great shots Roy :-) For me there aren't many things better than a walk in the woods on a warm and sunny spring day accompanied by singing Willow Warblers high in the tree tops :-)
Nice pictures Roy! Saw my first Willow Warbler today, I thought it was quite late, but only 3 days later than last year!? Spring is definitely here now, hopefully we have seen the last of the colder weather. J Follow me at HEDGELAND TALES
Hey Roy...Those flowering tree's sure make a lovely setting for bird photo's! : ) Nice photo's of the Willow Warbler, the last on is a cutie,I like that stripe across it's eye!! I saw my first Yellow Warbler today!! Grace
Superb set of images Roy. I also saw my first Willow Warbler of the year yesterday (two days later than last year!)' in fact, once I'd found one they seemed to be like buses, they were everywhere!! Chiffchaffs were around in big numbers too! and the day was topped off with eight Wheatears and a beautiful female Redstart. Things are looking up at last!...[;o)
Lovely shots Roy. I've also taken some of a newly found Willow Warbler at my local Reserve, but mine don't have the added bonus of the beautiful blossom! (-:
I may well have seen a willow warbler but as it falls into my 'little brown bird' category I'd be totally unaware of it! I have seen the first swallows though - back to the stable at the bottom of Shorts Lane where they nest every year. Only three so fat but hopefully more will arrive soon.
This super Warbler. I had him this afternoon for the lens, but all the pictures are ugly to the wind. You have the Warbler really beautiful beautiful on it. Compliment.

Thanks GG, yes I tend to search that area regularly now as I get a lot of sightings because it attracts the birds.

ReplyDeleteThanks Jen. I have had some luck around those few trees.
DeleteThough it is rather plain looking, it also looks so sweet and, it definitely looks like spring!
ReplyDeleteIt's a very good sign of Spring seeing this species Kathie.

ReplyDeleteThey are not easy D. Only way to tell a W/Warbler or a Chiffchaff is by the song.
