My images from a recent visit to Lodmoor Reserve, Weymouth.
Things are beginning to improve at Lodmoor in respect of bird life. The first of the winter gatherings are now happening.
Canada Geese have returned in some numbers along with Black-tailed Godwits.
Regular attenders such as the Great White and Little Egrets are also visible.

From a distance I witnessed this Great White homing in on a fish of some kind.
Wow! to those photos of the Great White fishing.
ReplyDeleteMany (nearly 50) years go I lived in Weymouth in a road backing onto Lodmoor. If my memory serves, it was council tip then. something of an improvement!
Thanks Jacquie,
DeleteYes the Council Tip is the other side of the road to it.
I don't know the full history of it.
Hei Roy! Sinne on tullut hienoja lintuja.

DeleteSe on loistava paikka talvella.
Great shots Roy. The series of images of the Great White Egret are FABULOUS. Just learned that we have 2 GW Egret in Northern Ireland but not in my area. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret. There are not many about in UK.
DeleteHi Roy, beautiful photos of the birds. Almost the same birds of the Netherlands.
ReplyDeleteFabulous shots, particularly this last sequence of the Great White!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mandy.
