Having moved recently I have had to explore local areas for new walking routes, where I can find wildlife and nature to observe and photograph.
These are some images from such a walk.
A Blue Tit amongst Blackthorn blossom.

A brief glimpse of a distant female Blackcap enabled this shot.

A Grey Heron was lurking at the edge of a stream.

I was sure to find a Robin, in fact several on the walk.

A distant Chiffchaff was flying along the edge of this hedgerow catching insects.

I came across a small group of Long-tailed Tits searching for food.

This male Chaffinch was perched high up in a tree and singing away as male chaffinches do at this time.
It took me a while to locate it.

The Small Tortoiseshell butterfly, another early riser from hibernation.

This Wood Pigeon was obscured by tall grass, but it popped its head up on occasions.

A few more shots of the Blue Tit in the Blackthorn Bush.
The flock of ewes and lambs were quite some distance away and this was the closest image I could get.
The lamb was asleep and just wouldn't raise its head for the camera.

The iPhone images were take on the route of the walk.
Hei Roy! Todella kauniita valokuvia, ihanista kohteista. Siellä on jo kevät!
ReplyDeleteKiitos Anne, kyllä, viimeinkin kevät.
DeleteBeautiful spring series. The last one, give me an idea. Can you let me to draw? If not, not a problem.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing, is food for the soul :)
Thanks Robert, yes please draw as you wish.
DeleteSome cracking shots of the commoner birds there, Roy. I was out early for my Boris-walk this morning and there were several Song Thrushes making themselves known - I didn't realise we had so many round here! It looks like you've got some decent walking country to explore down there.
ReplyDeleteThanks John, yes it is fine so far and there are lots of opportunities nearby when we can travel a few miles.
DeleteBeautiful photos Roy. I love the blackcap, in Dutch zwartkop. Have a nice easter. Take care. Greetings Caroline
