Teal Launch

My latest 'Single Image' shot was a taken by chance.
I arrived at a bird hide and on pointing my lens out of the viewing window I just managed to take a shot of this pair of Teal Duck taking off from the surface of the water.
The camera I was using is not much good at tracking a bird so this was a lucky shot.

Parkland Walk

My latest Parkland walk produced nothing different from recent events.
The only variation being a reasonable sunny day, of which there have been few lately.
The snowdrops still show quite well and to add some colour I have included a single crocus plant which has grown each year in part of the woodland area.

Great Tit

Reed Bunting (Fem)

Robin

Blue Tit

A Blown Gull

My latest single image.
A Black-headed Gull swimming against strong waves and winds.

The Heron's Bad Hair Day

This Grey Heron was observed perched in an exposed position with the wind at its back causing the long head feathers to fall forward.
He wouldn't look out of place at Ascot Ladies Day.

Just for added interest a few more scene images from around the local patch.

Lesser Redpoll

At this time of year Redpolls are a species to look out for.
You may not see one all Winter or you could be lucky and just come across them one day, just like I did with these.
There was only a small flock and they (as many other species do at this time) were not wasting time and feeding away ferociously. The seeds of the dead Rosebay Willowherb is a great source of food for the Redpoll and quite a favourite of Goldfinch as well.

Having classed these as Lesser Redpolls, the first one below has some markings like a Mealy Redpoll on its back although its not really white enough, so its probably a Lesser.
I get confused with Redpolls, amongst many others I hear you say, well its a Redpoll, I just take the photographs :)
