Last of the Flutters

The last of the Flutters (well maybe).
From what I have observed recently the butterfly season appears to be drawing down already and quite early this year. I went in search of Red Admirals in the last week without success.
At this time and until October I would expect to find Comma, Peacock, Red Admiral and Small Tortoiseshell in reasonable numbers. The indifferent weather is not helping the situation with frequent storms and strong winds which are not conducive to the flight of butterflies.

I have posted below a few images of what I did find. 
The Painted Lady is still around and perhaps the only unusual one of the bunch.

    Not ideal weather so far this September. I did see a lot of very small brownish orange flutters yesterday - in an open field. No photos, so I'm not sure what they are. They didn't look coppery enough for coppers!

      Probably the 'Comma' Alison.
      They are still flying for quite some time yet and there is a new brood emerging as well at this time.

      Much much smaller than the comma. About the size of some of the common blues, but I saw no evidence of blue at all.

    You need to be here for Red Admirals Roy. Today I saw well over 20 feeding on a large Ivy growth.
