Small is Beautiful

Two small butterflies that are now on the wing. The Small Heath and the Brown Argus.
Close examination reveals that there is considerable detailed markings on both species.
The Small Heath has an average wingspan of 36mm and the Brown Argus 29mm.

The Small Heath is the easier one to see and follow and will pitch for a while.
The Brown Argus is not see easy, either to see or follow, especially earlier in its season.

    1. There are less small species about Pete and has been for several years now. The Common Blue for instance.
