Resident Stonechat Departs

According to all reports, our resident local parkland male Stonechat has left the area recently.
It is likely that he would be moving North West to his breeding grounds at this stage.
It prefers heathland or coastal areas for breeding.

There have certainly been a number of this species on the move lately according to various reports from other birders in the general area.

Hopefully we will see him on his return in the late Autumn.

  1. Always lovely to see your pics of the Stonechat which spends the winter on your local patch. Here's hoping he makes it back to his breeding grounds safely :-)

I am going up to the moors for a few days and it will be interesting to see if I can find 'my' Stonechat whilst I am up there.

Hope you are well and have a great weekend :-)
