The Little Owl

The Little Owl - A delightful small Owl that can be found in the day time and will also call during the day time.
I took these images in the local Parkland at around mid day. I was intending to search a couple of tall trees where one or two have been known to frequent. Before I arrived at the location I could hear a mewing sound and then a few Owl screeches. It took a while to locate this bird as it was sitting high up in one of the trees and it is well camoflaged amongst the numerous bare branches.

It occasionally stretched one of its legs and wings.

Also some preening.

I say, try and stay awake during this photo shoot Mr Owl.

  2. Great series. I can't believe that it stayed there and let you photograph it while it stretched and preened.

    1. Thanks Wilma. He was very high in the tree and my appearance wouldn't have bothered him.

  8. It was indeed sharp-eyed of you to spot this Little Owl in amongst those branches: a real lesson in camouflage as you mention:) What lovely pictures.
