Marsh Tit - Common Species Series

I have collected images of a number of common species for a series of posts.
Posted particularly for the interest of those who are not familiar with our common species in UK.
Of course, at this time of year there is not so many common species to see around local patches unless you are prepared to travel far and wide.

The first in a series of Common Species I am posting that can be found is the Marsh Tit,
which is probably the least common of the series.

These images were shot in mature broadleaved woodland which is this species natural habitat.
What prompted its name originally I have no idea, as you are unlikely to find it in marsh land.

I have attached a scene at the end of each of this series of areas of the deciduous woodland where I shot the images of the birds.

  1. Well this bird may be common in the UK although I have never sen it and it has not made its way across to N. Ireland yet!! Great shots and a good idea to highlight your common birds for others.

  3. Great idea Roy, looking forward to seeing the rest of the series.
We had a small colony of these hanging on at a site not far from me sadly, they've not been reported and I've not seen any there since 2014.
The second last image is a beauty...[;o)
